RECIPE: Margaritas

We’re on “vacation” but it’s really just a re-location because we have all seven kids in tow and therefore NOT a vacay for us moms, ya know? 😂 With that being said, we’re enjoying our adult beverages and last night we made a light and refreshing WW cocktail recipe.

If you watched our Insta stories you know that Cat isn’t the best with following instructions, so we’re sharing the exact list of ingredients and directions below so you can mix up your own delish margarita this summer. FYI for our WW friends - this recipe is 4 SmartPoints per serving (serving = 1/2 cup without ice) for blue, green and purple.

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ tbsp kosher salt

  • 1 tsp lime zest

  • 1 wedge and 6 slices fresh limes

  • 8 fl oz (1 cup) seltzer

  • ⅔ cup tequila

  • ½ cup fresh lime juice

  • 6 tbsp orange-flavored liqueur

  • 2 cups ice cubes

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix together salt and lime zest on a small plate. Rub rims of 6 glasses with lime wedge and dip rims in salt mixture.

  2. Combine seltzer, tequila, lime juice, and liqueur in a small pitcher.

  3. Fill glasses with ice. Top evenly with margarita mixture. Serve with lime slices.

  4. ENJOY!!!

NOTE: By mixing the freshly grated lime zest with the salt, you get a punch of citrus flavor with every sip! It’s best to have 9 limes on hand for this recipe as each one makes about a tablespoon of juice. And using chilled seltzer water gives the drinks a bit of sparkle to make them even more refreshing. If you’re preparing the pitcher ahead of time, add the seltzer right before serving.
