In life, you've gotta take chances and put yourself out there even when the odds don't seem to be in your favor. Jessi sent an email to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, asking for an interview. Not only did he agree, hers was one of only two interviews granted in an election year. You never know what can happen. Just talk to people and amazing opportunities will follow.
Growing up, Jessi had a tumultuous relationship with her body. She started TV hosting at the age of 22 and was always hyper aware of her weight and size. Motherhood changed everything. With a difficult, high-risk pregnancy, Jessi's focus was solely on delivering two healthy (and funny) babies. She didn't care at all about her weight and instead gained a newfound appreciation and gratitude for her body.
Motherhood was the catalyst to letting go of all the pressure surrounding body image. The focus shifted from her size to her strength.
Jessi isn't immune to mom guilt. Probably the most difficult part of being a working mom is not having enough time to connect with her kids, especially individual time with each child. Family time is important, but so is spending that one-on-one time where you can really grow each relationship and discover new aspects of each kid's personality. That's an important focus of Jessi's and one she has to work at with her schedule.
No matter what, Jessi usually wakes up happy and optimistic about the day ahead. That zest for life might seem like it's something you're born with, but it's also a conscious decision we make every day.
