KEY TAKEAWAYS:
We've all heard the saying, "The days are so long but the years so fast." The biggest takeaway from Hilaria is to be grateful for the time you have with your children because they won't always be under your wing. It goes fast so live in the moment and appreciate your time together, now.
There isn't a day that goes by where Hilaria doesn't feel overwhelmed. That just comes with motherhood. What helps is to catch herself in the moment so she can take a deep breath and slow everything down.
Hilaria isn't only a mother, she's a wife. More than that, she's a girlfriend to her husband, Alec. When it comes to marriage, people like to say that age doesn't matter or that religious or cultural differences aren't important factors. But they are. For a relationship to be successful, each person has to make themselves a little uncomfortable for their partner sometimes.
Though she and Alec are so different (culture, background, age, and language among other things!) they are each other's best friends. They always have something to talk about.
Be fair to your partner. Know their limits and don't test them beyond that. You never want to make your partner feel bad about themselves. That said, use your voice and put down boundaries then stick to them.
Motherhood and exercise don't always go hand-in-hand. Going for a run or going to the gym might be ideal, but quick workouts right in your home can be effective. Take the three, five, or ten minutes you get throughout the day and make them count. (Hilaria's got great workout ideas on her Instagram account.)
Hilaria suffered chemical pregnancies as well as two miscarriages. At first she shared the news on Social Media because she couldn't take another person congratulating her. She soon realized that by being so open, she was helping other women who kept the pain and shame of their losses to themselves.
As someone who used to be very private, Hilaria learned to embrace the positives of fame and work the negatives for good. For example, to avoid the paparazzi from hounding her family, she and Alec sold photos of their children to magazines and donated the money to charity. It's up to us to find the positive in every experience.
In life, you either sink or swim. Every person lives through both good and bad experiences. Understand that all of it makes you who you are. Suffering shouldn't be seen as negative. It grows you and makes you strong.
