PODCAST: Have A Little Faith

We're back from home from tour (for a week) and chatting about the mental load our families face when we're away, which honestly just gets put right back onto us. In this episode, we're sharing our realization that parenting just isn't cute anymore. Plus, we're answering your questions about getting caught up in the comparison trap, how to get over feelings of intimidation, how we choose our team members, and what our biggest roadblock has been so far. Of course we end things on a less serious note, with a convo about pound town and "O" faces.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED:

  • How do you stay in our own lane and not get caught in the comparison trap? Everyone gets caught up in the comparison trap every once in a while. I don't think there is anything wrong with looking at other people and being inspired. It’s important to change your comparison into gratitude and appreciate what someone else has done. You can celebrate who they are and what they've accomplished without minimizing who you are and what you've done. There is nothing wrong with comparison if your feelings are of inspiration rather than jealousy. You're in control and you can flip the script from "Wow, I can't believe I haven't done that." to "Wow, that is so amazing that they can accomplish that." If you say it out loud and say it enough, you'll start to change your attitude.

  • How do you initially get started in something that you find so intimidating? If you're sitting there feeling intimidated about starting something, just do it! GET IN IT and it will become a lot less intimidating than if you were to continue looking at it from the outside. If you're living it, you'll learn it so much faster.

  • How do you get people to jump on board with you? You have to think that what you're doing is the best thing ever. If you don't believe it, no one else is going to believe it. You have to think that what you're doing is meaningful and that the product or service you offer is something that everyone (or your target market) truly needs. Lead by example and show your passion.

  • How do you come up with so many posts each day? Share what you're feeling and don't overthink it!

  • How do you decide who to hire? We've never asked for a resume. For us, it's not about having a skill, it's about being able to learn a skill. If you have an open mind and a positive attitude and you work hard to figure shit out, that's what we want. It’s not about having a background in something, it's about having the same outlook on life as us: Can you make a negative into a positive? Can you take feedback and learn new things? That’s what’s important to us. As for the brands who choose to work with us, people hire us for our energy!

  • What's the biggest roadblock that you've had to push through? People didn't take us seriously in a time when growing a business through social media wasn't really a big thing. That was a major challenge for us. Everyday is a roadblock, and keeping this community alive is something we need to continue to do as we push through.
