PODCAST: Work Through Your Shit

This week’s episode was recorded in the back of a cab (Jason Derulo voice) on our way home from NYC! We explain our rollercoaster of a travel schedule, share our major take-homes from the Oprah event and talk about enlightenment, self-care and stress. We also tease our new podcast series which is going to be off the chain because we’ve been interviewing super successful/famous people who have amazing stories to tell. And you better listen to the end because we get real deep about the importance of working through shit.

TOP QUOTES FROM THIS PODCAST:

  • The biggest life lesson is if you want to know who you are, then face the fact that what you fear of yourself is probably what has made you the strongest. Rather than running from it and being embarrassed of it, OWN IT! So many people will either unexpectedly be able to relate or be inspired by the fact that you worked through it.

  • If you want to get to know yourself, work through your shit. It’s not something you can just figure out tomorrow, but definitely don’t shame yourself of your shit because you’ll keep burying who you are. Instead, share it in an appropriate way. Don’t think for a second that you’re the only one it has happened to even if it feels that way. Don’t run from it, work through it.

  • People aren’t self-articulating and sharing how they feel. If it was an experience that you are hiding from, try to share it so that it’s no longer clogging the system and you can make room for something else that will allow you to flourish. Once you share it, you’ve let it go and it’s no longer your demon that’s stopping you from getting to what’s ‘next’.

  • You’re not alone, and if you think you are, you’re not. Everybody has something that they haven’t worked through.

  • You can’t compare yourself to others. Don’t fall to the pressure of anything. Do what YOU like.
