PODCAST: This Is NOT A Time To Stop
Physical distancing is in full effect over here. We’ve recorded over 80 podcast episodes and this is the first one we’re recording while separated from each other! To keep it real with you, we’re exhausted, but not tired…. Our kids are literally obsessed with us, while the two of us on the other hand are craving connection from our community - we thrive off of it. We chat about life in lockdown, fantasize about hook-ups in isolation and wonder what it’d be like to date a plastic surgeon. Oh it’s never a dull moment (even when we’re apart).
TOP QUOTES FROM THIS PODCAST:
Through this experience of self-isolation, we have realized what it is about our company that we love so much and what makes it worth it for us to keep going…it’s the people in our community. You're their narrative.
We love when our experts in the 6-to-Teen group talk about how to turn this into a positive. Kids don't have a narrative (even the teenagers) other than what they hear on the news or on social media platforms. You’re their narrative. And if you're speaking negatively then that’s what they internalize. So you have to turn the narrative around and make it positive.
We're trying to function in order to keep things normal, but things aren't normal. We’re trying to keep the same routine we had in February, but life isn’t the same as it was a few months ago and we don't know when or IF it’s going to get back to the way it was before. So fighting to keep things “normal” right now is actually counterproductive.
When it comes to rules, think about your ”why”. Don't hold on to what was, focus on what is. We have to make a new set of rules for ourselves and our families that are like none we’ve ever had before.
