PODCAST: Consistency Is Key

In our last episode of 2019 (wow!), Cat shares her true feelings for Nat 😍 We also reflect on our Toronto shows and how the weekend was such a schlep. We designed the set and organized the whole event from start to finish, but it felt SO GOOD and was SO FUN. We also chat about moods and how it's so important to be consistent and to be a team player in business and in life.

We're planning for 2020 and we're excited about it, and that's when we know it's right. So thank you for an amazing year and we can't wait to see what 2020 has in store for us and this community!!

TOP QUOTES FROM THIS PODCAST:

BUSINESS TAKEAWAYS

  • If you need help, ask for it. Don't think you're a saviour for taking everything on. You're not weak for asking for help. You're just hurting your entire team (or family) by not asking for help when you need it. You don't have to do it all.

  • When it comes to growing a business, there is no good idea or bad idea and there is no formula. When people ask us how we did it, even if we told them, it doesn't necessarily mean that if they do the same they will be successful. Our advice is to have consistency in your content but don't chase a trend. Stop searching and start doing so you can see what works and what doesn't work. Rather than doing more and more research, the best thing you can do is start, because it's through experience that you're going to learn what works for the audience and what feels right for you. You'll never know if you don't try.

  • Our gift and our biggest strength is that we don't think anything through. We just go. An idea comes into our head and we execute. We're thankful to have a team around us who listens and lets us f*ck up, but our gift is that we don't think. So our advice is don't just sit there. If you're sitting there, then you're screwed.

  • Our goal has never been to make a lot of money, but we understood the impact our work had on our family and we knew that what we were doing had to add value. Our family values money, so the fact that we’re bringing money in is what makes all of this worth it to them. However, if you're a stay-at-home mom and you have a passion that fills you and makes you feel whole but it doesn't bring in a lot of money, we say go for it! As long as it's not hurting your family other than taking some of your time away from them and you feel you need to do it - DO IT. Who knows what can come of it? And if you need to fill your bucket in a certain way, you have to do it yourself because no one else is going to fill it for you.

#MOMTRUTH MOMENTS

  • There are two people in this world - problem solvers and problem finders. Instead of thinking "what if?" you have to start thinking "what is?". What is right now? What can you control right now? If you can use those words with your kids, it helps them understand what they're doing in the moment rather than getting reactionary. Problem solve. Find a solution to your problem, don't find more problems to your problem.

INSPIRATIONAL TAKEAWAYS

  • The energy you bring into a room is so evident to other people and it can either be positive or negative. Don't think that people can’t see it. But remember that your mood is a privilege, it's not a right. If you choose to be in a negative mood, it's not fair to everybody around you.

  • Change is good. We like consistent personalities but we like experiencing change in other aspects of our life because it ignites creativity and excitement in us.
